In recent years, other authors have taken a handful of classic characters—from Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes to The Wicked Witch of the North and Captain Hook—and went back in time to tell the stories of their youth, which I've always thought was a pretty fun idea. So when trying to think of a book cover to illustrate, I figured hey, no one's talked about Robin Hood as a lad.
Who knows, maybe someday I'll even take a shot at writing it (I actually have a story idea). Until then, this will have to do!

Actually, somebody has covered that idea before! Leave it to Japan to make an anime about adolescent Robin Hood. I think they even managed to put a mana tree concept in there somewhere. And now I'm doomed to spend the next couple of hours looking up retro cartoon intros on YouTube...
I love this cover rendition; I actually adore all your book cover mockups, really nice work. Makes me want to do some cover tributes to books I enjoyed -- inspirational!
I really love reading books when I was young especially Robin Hood. I think that his characteristic is truly amazing and fantastic. I think that I would love reading about this new version of Robin Hood book the Young Robin Hood.
Ha! I should've known someone had tried it before. Leave it to the Japanese. Looks like it even had a sort of supernatural element to it, interesting...
Thanks, both of you, I'm glad you dig it =)
